Venue Change for Welwitschias vs. Blue Bulls Rugby Match

The eagerly anticipated rugby clash between the Welwitschias and the South African side, Blue Bulls, will now take place at a different venue than originally planned. Instead of being held at the renowned Dr. Hage Geingob Stadium, a new location has been designated.

Dr. Hage Geingob Stadium holds significant prominence as the traditional home of rugby in Namibia, hosting numerous premier league matches and national team games throughout the year.

SA High Commission celebrates Nelson Mandela Day at Katutura Old Age Home

The South African High Commission and partners celebrated Nelson Mandela Day with the residents of the Katutura Old Age Home.

The High Commission, in partnership with South African Airways and Namib Mills, donated 500 kilogrammes of food to the old age home. 

Nelson Mandela's Birthday celebrated on the 18th of July annually, is used to give back to the community.

Political counsellor Sholeen Mooljee at South Africa's High Commission urged everyone to do an act of kindness on the day.

Lawyer representing Fishrot accused says his clients will submit a not guilty plea once the trial commences

South African Advocate Vas Soni, who is representing three of the six accused implicated in the Fishrot corruption scandal case says his clients will submit a not-guilty plea once the trial commences.

Soni and advocate Thabang Phatela argued before a three-judge bench at the Supreme Court as the men dubbed the Fishrot kingpins' fight for freedom continues in their appeal for bail.

Soni among others, submitted that the assets of his clients have been restrained by the state and in fear that they might abscond should they be released on bail.

Gender-based survivors march from Windhoek to Swakopmund

Three Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors and activists who arrived in Swakopmund after walking 370 kilometres from Windhoek say suicide is not a solution to GBV.

Reverend June Dolley Major, a South African national, has urged survivors to speak out and for communities to stop shaming them.

Major says she got a vision from God to walk long distances with the aim of creating awareness and giving hope to victims.

She became an activist for gender-based violence after another priest raped her.
