The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture announced the commencement of the Basic Education Act (Act No. 3 of 2020).

Unemployed teachers from the two Kavango regions are accusing the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture of poor leadership and a lack of forward planning.

The unemployed teachers say the ministry is hampering the provision of quality education in the country.

The Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Anna Nghipondoka, has stressed that career guidance programmes should provide learners with information based on the needs of the country.

Nghipondoka was speaking at the Ritja Career Fair at Otjiwarongo.

Some community members of Ndama East in Kavango East Region held a demonstration on Friday, requesting that the decision to move the school back to Ndama South West be reconsidered.

The back to school bells will ring as the second semester begins tomorrow.

The Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture (MoEAC), in collaboration with the Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA) and the Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU), will conduct the 10th AFTRA teaching and learning conference in Windhoek from May 9 to 12.

The Katutura Central Constituency in conjunction with the Khomas Regional Council have donated Wi-Fi service and computers to the Katutura community library through the Minor Capital Project.

The Wi-Fi was installed by Telecom Namibia at the cost of N$250 000.

Residents of the Sun City Informal Settlement at Rundu have reiterated their demand for compensation for their crop fields the town council allegedly allocated to the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.
