Creatives from Gobabis came out in large numbers to engage with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation management team ahead of the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants.

The artists, fashion designers, and cultural performers shared their personal journeys and highlighted challenges in their pursuit of growth.

Many expressed hope that the upcoming national event will open doors for greater visibility, collaboration, and support, while also showcasing the rich talent in Omaheke.

NBC's Chief of News and Programming, Menesia Muinjo, highlighted the broadcaster's commitment to supporting and developing talent across the country.

"We as the NBC—that is what we are doing. We must only jack up that standard and really make sure that we take care of various talents in the country. We go per region and see how they can go together. The aim at the NBC is to ensure that your talent is considered, maybe not at an individual level but as a region; we need to work together."

The creatives say the engagement inspired them to hold on to their dreams, giving hope that their talents and aspirations can one day become reality on a national stage.

“My dream is that I don't want my children to be born in a place where they have superheroes from other countries. I want my son to have a Namibian hero. This is encouraging for me not to give up,” a creative, Ngunazo Makari, explained.

A Fashion Designer, Melody also gave her inputs.
“As a young girl, I dreamt that one day I would be in the fashion industry, whereby I would dress a model, and luckily God answered my prayer by bringing Miss Namibia to Gobabis.”

NBC's Commissioning Editor, Glendyrr Bailey, says the broadcaster is committed to creating platforms that empower Namibians to share their own stories and experiences through local content initiatives.

“One thing about the Mulelo and Mukorob that is very important for us: for far too long we have been listening and watching other people's stories, while we as Namibians have our own stories. So even if you are not a fantastic writer but have a story, you can put your story down, and at the end of the day, NBC will walk the journey with you.”
