Senior Citizens of the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency in Katutura were treated to a day filled with appreciation and pampering. 

It was a hive of activity at the Max Mutongolume Community Hall in Havana as the elderly witnessed a tree-planting demonstration. 

The event, made possible by the Omkhai Namibia Trust was all about appreciating the elderly in the community. 

After the horticulture lesson, the elderly moved into the hall where they were presented with a winter blanket, a pair of warm socks and a hot water bottle.

Incoming Moses ||Garoëb Constituency tackle service delivery-related matters

Incoming councilor of the Moses ||Garoëb Constituency, Stefanus Ndengu, says he is ready to tackle service delivery-related matters in the community.

The Swapo councilor who won the bi-election earlier this month says he has an "open door" policy and advises community members to reach out.

The Moses ||Garoëb constituency is made up of 25 locations and is home to over 40,000 inhabitants.

Should everything go according to the Electoral Commission of Namibia's plans, residents of the Moses ||Garoeb constituency in Windhoek will have a newly elected regional councillor by this Friday.

The constituency has been without a regional councillor for two months, after the death of Swapo's Aili Venonya, who died in October last year.

The Regional Council Act dictates that the position of a councillor be filled within three months after it becomes vacant.

Moses ||Garoeb Constituency Residents Want Change

A new regional councillor is expected to be sworn in soon after the by-election of the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency in the |Khomas Region.

Residents of the 20-year-old constituency are expected to cast their votes on January 6.

Whoever is elected from those contesting will be faced with a daunting task.

This is because most Moses-Garoeb Constituency residents' living standards have been so low that they have been begging for a decent life for so long.

Swapo Party launches its campaign ahead of the Moses ||Garoeb bi-election

The Swapo Party has officially launched its campaign ahead of the Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency bi-election slated for the 6th of January 2023.
Stefanus Ndengu was introduced as the party's candidate.

After a drive through the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, Swapo Party members and supporters converged at an open space, marking the official campaign of the party. 

The meeting observed a minute of silence in honor of the former late councillor of the constituency, Aili Venonya for whom a replacement is now being sought.

929 eligible voters register during Supplementary Registration of Voters in Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency

A total of 929 eligible voters have registered during the Supplementary Registration of Voters in Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, bringing the provisional voter roll number to 42,135.

619 duplicate voter registration cards have been issued.

The Electoral Commission of Nambia conducted the exercise from October 31 to November 2, and the Provisional Voters Register will be displayed for public scrutiny and objections tomorrow at the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency Office.

The final voter roll will be available on December 2.

Moses ||Garoëb Constituency residents to vote on 6 January 2023 for new regional councillor

Residents of the Moses ||Garoëb Constituency will go to the polls on 6 January next year to elect a new regional councillor.

The by-election became necessary following the death of the constituency's councillor, Aili Venonya, earlier this month. 

The supplementary registration of voters will be conducted from 31 October to 2 November.
