The Kavango West Region has experienced a remarkable population surge of over 40.4% between 2011 and 2023.

School staff fear this may delay or interrupt teaching and learning as classes are set to commence on Monday. 

Schools started with registration on Thursday.

A faction of the Vakwangali tribe in the Kavango West Region is set to announce a new candidate to be coronated to the dispute Hompa of the Traditional Authority next week.

The faction successfully opposed the coronation of Hompa Eugene Siwombe in the High Court about eight years ago.

Gender-based violence is a concern in Namibia.
