Rise in cybercrimes a concern

Prosecutor General Martha Imalwa is concerned about the increase in cybercrimes coupled with cross-border crimes committed in Namibia.

Imalwa called for concerted efforts from all law enforcement agencies to fight these crimes, through which hundreds are defrauded of their hard-earned income.

Scammers, she said, are using social media platforms to commit the crimes.

Attorney General Festus Mbandeka argues that majority of Namibians still reject homosexuality

Attorney General Festus Mbandeka has submitted an affidavit to the Windhoek High Court in which he argues that a majority of Namibians still reject homosexuality and that sodomy laws should remain in force on that basis.

Mbandeka filed his affidavit after Friedel Dausab, a gay Namibian man, launched a civil case in which he challenged the constitutionality of the colonial Sodomy Act, which criminalizes sexual relations between two consenting adult men.

Attorney Mbandeka dismisses AR's claim

Attorney General Festus Mbandeka dismissed AR Leader Dr Job Amupanda's claims when quizzed on the allegations that they, as respondents, are pursuing an agenda to deliberately delay the case to drain him financially.

Mbandeka, in a telephonic conversation with nbc News, says anyone, including Dr Amupanda, is at liberty to seek relief in the High Court if aggrieved.

AR accuse respondents in Redline removal case of deploying delaying tactics

The Affirmative Repositioning movement has accused the respondents in a case in which it demands the removal of the Veterinary Cordon Fence of deploying delaying tactics to avoid arguments on the merits of the case.

AR activist-in-chief, Dr. Job Amupanda, was referring to technical arguments in the case, which are not necessarily the merits of the case.

Dr. Amupanda says these delaying tactics are aimed at financially draining him and derailing him from proceeding with the case.
