Despite unfavourable weather conditions, the farming communities in Otjombinde and the surrounding areas are striving to produce quality livestock and crops.

The region hosted yet another industrial and agricultural show at Talismanus.

Speaking at Talismanus, Otjombinde Constituency Councillor Wenzel Kavaka stated that, with persistent years of drought, farmers need to rethink the traditional practice of keeping large herds of livestock and instead focus on producing quality products.

Swapo Party Deputy Secretary General Uahekua Herunga has cautioned party members to desist from calling for an extraordinary congress to elect a new presidential candidate for the 2024 national elections.

Herunga reminded members that the Swapo Party is guided by the constitution, rules, and procedures. He said the election of the presidential candidates is done and dusted, and Nandi-Ndaitwah remains the Swapo Party's sole presidential candidate.

Onjose Farmers Cooperative in the Omaheke Region has set up a new facility to provide livestock supplements and vaccines to farmers.

The cooperative provides agricultural training opportunities to farmers as well as organizing market days for them.

Speaking at a meeting with farmers at Talismanus, the Chairperson of Onjose Farmers Cooperative, Ismael Ndjoze, said addressing challenges facing the agricultural sector should be a collective effort.
