NUDO's Kauandenge to Contest for Party Presidency

The National Unity Democratic Organisation's (NUDO) Secretary General, Joseph Kauandenge, has declared his intention to contest for the party's presidency in next year's national elections.

He will go head-to-head with the current president, Dr. Utjiua Muinjangue.

Kauandenge, who is also an MP for the NUDO party in the National Assembly, expressed his commitment to a transformative agenda and underscored the vital role of the youth as catalysts for driving positive change within the party and the nation.

NUDO MP Joseph Kauandenge has criticised the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation over the accreditation of law degrees.

Kauandenge is questioning UNAM's monopoly on offering law programmes and the implications for students studying law at other institutions.

In response to the queries in the National Assembly, the Minister of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Itah Kandjii-Murangi, clarified the regulations and accreditation processes for tertiary institutions and their programmes.

Mixed feelings on 1904-08 Genocide Memorial Museum in National Assembly

Some Swapo MPs in the National Assembly have embraced a motion by NUDO member Joseph Kauandenge for the establishment of the 1904-08 Genocide Memorial Museum.

They, however, question what the difference is between this motion and the one tabled by former Swanu leader, Usutuaije Maamberua, which was discussed and adopted by the house.

In her motivation, Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele, says such a museum requested by Kauandenge should not only be for OvaHerero and Nama people but for all Namibians.

MP Joseph Kauandenge calls for establishment of a Genocide Memorial Museum

NUDO Secretary General and MP Joseph Kauandenge tabled a motion calling for the establishment of a Genocide Memorial Museum to honor and remember the Ovaherero and Nama people who died during the 1904–08 war.

Motivating the motion in the National Assembly today, Kauandenge says such a museum will be important to remember and honor those who died during the extermination orders issued by German Schutztruppe Commander, General Lothar von Trotha.

NUDO lauches 2023 political calendar year ahead of 2024

The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) has officially launched its political calendar year for 2023.

This is in preparation for the 2024 elections. 

Party members converged at the party's Head office for various activities. 

The party's Secretary General Joseph Kauandenge addressed the media on pertinent issues of national concern.

Kauandenge, expressed concern about the state of education in the country following the high failure rate saying the system does not inspire hope. 

Opposition parties walk out again

Opposition parties again walked out of the National Assembly in protest of what they termed the bias of the Speaker in the way he handled parliament.

Upon resumption of the house this afternoon, NUDO MP Joseph Kauandenge stood up and registered the discontentment of opposition party members, saying all of them will walk out of the National Assembly until the Speaker, Peter Katjavivi, provides an explanation for yesterday's situation in the house.

Kauandenge stressed that they are disturbed by the Speaker's bias, which is against the oath he took when assuming his office.
