City of Windhoek hosts Christmas open market

The spirit of Christmas lingers in Windhoek as the City Council hosts its Christmas open market in the Central Business District.

The event, the second of its kind, is aimed at promoting the economic and artistic vibrancy of the capital.

The city administrators have transformed the Zoo Park, Post Street Mall, and sections of Independence Avenue into a bustling hub for over 100 small business enterprises and some corporate companies.

Business activities on Independence Avenue are dominated by small and medium enterprises.

The National Assembly has adjourned its business until February 14, 2023.

Today's session did not consider any items other than the Speaker, Prof. Peter Katjavivi, his Deputy, Loide Kasingo, and Youth, Sport, and National Service Minister, Agnes Tjongarero, as well as Swapo Party Chief Whip in the House, Hamunyera Hambyuka, wishing fellow MPs the best of wishes for Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thursdays are normally devoted to hearing answers from members of the Executive to questions posed by opposition MPs.
