The National Housing Enterprise (NHE), in collaboration with the Gobabis Municipality, constructed 65 houses with the aim of ensuring that low-income earners in Gobabis have a roof over their heads.

Gobabis Mayor Melba Tjozongoro says the council is working tirelessly with various key stakeholders to bring much-needed development to town. 

Gobabis Mayor, Elvire Theron, is pleased with the progress made at the town in terms of housing provision.

During a site visit, Theron told nbc News that more than 150 beneficiaries will move into their new homes by April of next year.

The Gobabis Mayor says housing provision is a key matter the council is concerned with, and in that regard, it has brought on board various development partners.

Theron urged the community to consider their homes as assets rather than a luxury.
