90 learners from Otjozondjupa have gathered in Okahandja to attend the ICT boot camp organised by the regional directorate.

The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, said the Namibian government is committed to ensuring improved communication services in rural communities across the country.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Science, ICT and Youth Development has concluded oversight follow-up visits to community hostels across 14 regions.

ICT infrastructure and equipment provider Powercom this afternoon commissioned a total of 25 network towers: two in Omusati, four in Erongo, seven in |Khomas, two in Otjozondjupa, two each in Kavango East and West, one in  ||Kharas, one in Oshana, one in Oshikoto, and three in the Zambezi Region.

An event aimed at supporting the upcoming Mega Hackathon, under the recently launched Comprehensive Digital Strategy, gathered a range of contributions from participants, including both financial and non-monetary pledges.

Strengthening partnerships in education, agriculture, ICT, and skills development is high on the agenda for the newly accredited Heads of Mission to Namibia.

The underrepresentation of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields continues to persist despite efforts made to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM.
