Churches and civil society organisations remain worried about the state of readiness of the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections in November.

They, therefore, urged the Electoral Commission of Namibia to engage them and use the platforms available to create awareness on voter registration.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has issued a warning to political parties and individuals regarding the unauthorised use of its official logo in campaign materials.

It stated that such actions jeopardise public trust and may mislead voters about the Commission's role.

ECN registers 1.49 million voters for regional elections

The Electoral Commission of Namibia provisionally registered 1,499,235 voters for the Regional Councils' elections.

The Commission released the Provisional Voters Register, following the conclusion of the supplementary registration process on August 19th.
