nbc Director General Stanley Similo has reminded political parties and broadcasting licensees of the strict election campaign blackout period, which came into effect 48 hours before Polling Day.

President Nangolo Mbumba has appealed to Namibians to uphold the democratic traditions by turning out in large numbers and exercising their right to vote for the leaders and parties of their choice. 

With only a day left before the Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Wednesday, the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has intensified its efforts to ensure all citizens are prepared to cast their votes. 

The Deputy Minister of Disability Affairs, Alexia Manombe-Ncube, has urged people with disabilities to go to the polling stations and cast their votes. She says people using wheelchairs should go to polling stations accessible to them. 

Omusati Electoral Officer Elizabeth Shiningayamwe has expressed concerns about the insufficient number of vehicles needed from the public for the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in her region.

The spokesperson of the polling officials who were threatening to boycott elections in the Kavango West Region if the ECN did not increase their training rate was informed by the Regional Electoral Officer, Elizabeth Visagie, that the commission would no longer be needing his services. 

Election materials are being deployed at the Otavi Depot in the Otjozondjupa Region.

According to ECN Electoral Officer Victoria Amutenya, the region has 207 teams.

Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) President Panduleni Itula has promised to lead a thriving Nambia where everyone will prosper.

Itula was speaking during his party's final rally, held in Okandengedi in Oshana Region.

The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) held one of its last campaign endeavours in Ondangwa's Omashaka Settlement.

The movement says it prefers discussion gatherings rather than political rallies.

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) President McHenry Venaaani has promised to tackle the high rate of unemployment in the country, stating that the party will ensure change and better governance.

Venaani said this at the final rally of the party at the Youth Centre in Windhoek.
