Johannes Konjore has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner-General responsible for Correctional Operations effective from 01 November. The new Deputy Commissioner-General takes over from Tuhafeni Hangula who recently retired on medical grounds. Deputy Commissioner-General Konjore will now be responsible for the management of five directorates namely Security, Healthcare, Information and Communication Technology; Food Production and Correctional Industries and Capital Projects as well as four administrative regions and the 14 correctional facilities under them. Konjore served the Namibia Correctional Services for 35 years in various managerial positions including Officer in Charge, Regional Commander, Head for Human Resource Management, Commandant of the Lucius Sumbwanyambe Mahoto Correctional Service Training College. The Commissioner-General also appointed the Deputy-Commissioner Michael Mulisa as the new Head of Human Resources Management, promoted to the rank of Commissioner. Commissioner Mulisa was the head of Corporate Secretariat Division under the Directorate Central Staff.
