The Governor of the Kavango East, Bonifatius Wakudumo, says despite the hardships experienced in 2022, the region also recorded moments of wonder and joy.

Wakudumo delivered his state of the region address in Rundu today.

In his address, the Governor highlighted successes made in education, health, and agriculture.

Our region's 37.5% share in the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary Level examination achieved the number one (1) position nationally.

Even though potable water is still considered a luxury in some parts of the region, the Governor says 25 boreholes are assisting close to 10600 beneficiaries, and they were procured for close to five million dollars.

About 42 million dollars were spent on the rehabilitation of certain roads in the region, and talks are underway to give the Divundu village council town status.

Divundu Village Council has attracted an investment of 1,5 billion Namibian Dollars in the quest to promote Urban agriculture.

Some of the other successes include an increase in social grant beneficiaries for children, pensioners, and people with disabilities.
