The Ejameno Charity Organisation is hosting a Youth Empowerment Week in the capital.

The week-long programme aims to promote awareness of the plight of the youth in terms of rightful access to business, education, and agriculture.

The engagement further aims to empower the youth on Gender and cultural issues, as well as politics and the importance of education.

Laura McLeod-Katjirua, who officiated over the programme, said education has the potential to bring about positive change.

She says education stakeholders in the |Khomas Region have been working hard to bring about such a positive transformation among young people through various programmes in place.

"My office made many financial empowerment interventions to different youth projects or individuals, which varied from youth project funding, supporting schools, feeding project funding, supporting schools, feeding programme funding, sport activities programmes, and back-to-school programmes."

"The organisers of this event, the Ejameno Charity Organisation, are one of the beneficiaries of the Khomas Governor Social Fund when they received cleaning equipment to the value of N$2600, and there are many youth empowerment projects in the Region.

She says the gathering will present an opportunity for youth in the |Khomas Region to voice their concerns and receive an open ear.
