Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo has described ongoing leadership development training for senior commissioned officers as a journey towards organisational excellence, empowerment, and transformation.
The Lieutenant General officially opened the second Strategic Leadership and Governance training for senior officers in Hardap.
Ten senior command officers are attending the week-long, second leadership development workshop.
The training offered by the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) is meant to empower police senior command with knowledge and skills to succeed in the complex field of leadership.
"Strategic leadership and governance are two pillars upon which the strength and effectiveness of the Namibian police rest. It is the synergy of the two elements that shapes the organisation's journey and defines its ethical standards and performance."
Inspector General Shikongo commanded the trainees to demonstrate a high level of cooperation and commitment throughout the course's duration.
"I would like to motivate each and every one to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, to be visionaries in your own roles, and to work together to realise our strategic objective. Our success as senior managers of the force will be a testament to our collective dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our vision."
Also speaking at the occasion was NIPAM's Manager of Marketing and Business Development, Johannes Hatutale.
"The knowledge you are going to gain here will benefit your professional journey and contribute to the betterment of our beloved nation."
