The Green Hydrogen Project at Luderitz has triggered a demand for flights between Windhoek and Luderitz as business travellers travel there.
This was revealed by Fly Namibia Station Controller Elroy Bock in an interview with nbc News.
Bock indicated that the passenger capacity has increased to full capacity since Fly Namibia resumed flights between the southern harbour town and Windhoek.
Bock also shed light on the expansion of Luderitz Airport.
"We started with a small hanger in the beginning, and we saw the potential in Luderitz there, so what we have done is build a hanger that is four times bigger than this one at this stage. We are in the process of moving over there, and that will be most likely next week. To expand is one of the key things, and to develop Luderitz and the local people here as well. We have already employed a few of them. In the past, I started alone here. West Air compliments only six people, so we are going on; it is not going to stop here, and we have given people opportunities to grow."
Bock says people involved in the Hyphen Hydrogen Project development near Luderitz, as well as business people, have been en route daily on business trips.
