Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf visited Namibia to offer her condolences and support to the family of the late leader, President Hage Geingob.
In a heartfelt message, she reflected on the significant impact Dr. Geingob had made as a leader in Africa and the world.
"It's with great sadness that I have come to join the First Lady, the family, and the Namibian people to note what he has done to celebrate his life, what he has done as an African leader to ensure that all of our countries begin to move to develop, to become unified, and what he did in his own country history will tell it in better words than I could."
She highlighted the late president's dedication to promoting development and unity in Africa.
Johnson Sirleaf acknowledged the challenging times the world is currently facing and the need for strong, empathetic leaders such as the late Geingob.
"It's sadness for all of you that a great leader has gone out of time when the world is in disarray, and we need all of our strong, courageous, committed leaders with empathy to be with us as we go through these trying times, but God has taken him away, so we can only stand by the family that God will strengthen all of them and tell the Namibian people, give them strength to know that this is God's will; he has done his part; he has served his country; he has served Africa; he has served the world. May his soul rest in perpetual peace."
She extended her support to the family, offering prayers for strength and comfort.
