
Works and Transport Minister Veikko Nekundi has announced the upgrade of the 105 kilometers gravel to tar road between Khorixas and Kamanjab.
Nekundi made this announcement at a consultation meeting between the Ministry, Roads Authority and traditional authorities at Khorixas in the Kunene Region.
According to Nekundi, road works valued over N$1.3 billion are to commence by 15 May and run until December 2027.
The road works which will start from Kamanjab Settlement towards Khorixas are phase 2 of the MR 44 – Swakopmund-Hentiesbay, MR 76 Henties Bay-Uis-Kamanjab route.
Nekundi says a total of 300 jobs will be created for residents of the two towns, including 20 small and medium enterprises.
The appointed contractor is Zhong Mei Engineering Group, and the project consultant is Tulipamwe Consulting Engineers.
