The National Council has completed its review of the four bills and six reports passed by the National Assembly.

With regard to the Electoral Amendment Bill, significant changes are set to protect public servants in consideration for the National Assembly.

The amendment alters an existing rule that requires public servants of 55 years or older to resign when the election results are announced.

They will now be required to resign only once they have been sworn in as Members of Parliament.

National Council members underscored their commitment to ensure that legislation serves the best interests of the community, emphasising their role as diligent lawmakers.

At the adjournment of the National Council, MPs expressed commitment to addressing pressing issues in their constituencies.

These include a focus on improving service provision, advancing project development, and bolstering infrastructure across the country.
