Residents of Gcaruha Village in Kavango West finally have access to a clinic after being without a fully functional health facility for close to 11 years.
At the opening, Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, said that although construction took longer than expected, nurses were still offering healthcare services from their homes.
He emphasised that the opening of the Gcaruha clinic is a vital addition to public healthcare.
"This facility is paramount because it will serve communities that, for a long time, walk long distances, confronting the elements of nature to access healthcare services. From today, those struggles have become something of the past. Healthcare in this community and the surrounding areas has been brought closer to you."
