33 students graduated from the NamPower Vocational Training Centre, while 12 trainees were also acknowledged during the ceremony, held in Windhoek on Friday.

Educators, industry leaders, and other stakeholders, including friends and relatives of the graduates, witnessed the ceremony. 

It was an exciting moment for the students as they received qualifications in mechanical and electrical engineering fields after years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

The students collectively wrote a speech to express their gratitude to the institution. The speech was delivered by Antonio Hilzerbecher. "To the NamPower staff, I share my deepest appreciation. Your dedication to our education and training has been nothing short of extraordinary. You have been our mentors, guides, and role models. Showing us not only how to master our crafts but also how to approach our work with integrity and excellence. For this, we are truly grateful."

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director was Kandali Iyambo, who urged the graduates to embrace change, take on new challenges, and aim to continuously improve their skills with the latest developments in the industry.

"I would like to remind each one of you today that your role is not just a job; it is a responsibility that serves the greater good. Your work contributes greatly to the economic growth of the country and benefits the Namibian nation. Your journey to this point has been filled with both academic and practical challenges. You have honed your skills in a sector that is the backbone of our modern society and economy. You will now form part of the expertise that enables the electricity supply industry."

She further encouraged the students to be the best artisans they could be with confidence, maintain integrity, and develop relationships that would propel them to greater heights in their careers. 

"As you move to the next chapter in your life, remember that success is not just about individual achievements; it's about teamwork and collaboration. I encourage cultivating strong relationships with your colleagues, supervisors and instructors. Also, do not hold back on sharing your knowledge and skills and support each other. As the common saying goes, together, we can achieve more and even greater things."
