The fifth Vivo Energy Sam Kasete Cycling Challenge saw a notable increase in participation, with nearly ninety cyclists taking part this year, up from sixty last year.
Among the participants, eleven were from Angola, and three of them clinched the top three positions in the men's category for the 129 km Tsumeb-Coblens race.
In the women's category, young cyclist Olivia Shililifa took first place in the 129 km Tsumeb-Coblens race, while the defending champion finished in second place.
For the 69 km Grootfontein-Coblens race, Annemat Cruker, a regular participant, achieved first place.
Many local and non-professional cyclists participated in the 69 km race to test their endurance.
The event attracted numerous spectators from Coblens and surrounding areas, with schoolchildren also showing interest in the sport.
Marlene Mbakera, Chairperson of the Otjozondjupa Regional Council, pledged strong support for the initiative and expressed a desire to see more children involved. She emphasized the benefits of cycling for youth.
The challenge awarded prizes totalling thirty thousand dollars, including medals, to the winners.
