Cabinet has directed the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform to conduct a feasibility study over the 2024/25–2025/26 financial years for the gradual removal of the cordon fence restrictions.

The red line, which separated the northern communal areas from the commercial farming zones, has been a major issue when it comes to livestock trade and movement.
