The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Forestry has acknowledged that a study was conducted about 10 years ago on the complete removal of the Veterinary Cordon Fence, commonly known as the "Redline."

On Wednesday, Professor Job Amupanda, leader of the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement, raised concerns over the government's plans for a new feasibility study, questioning its necessity.

Ministry spokesperson Jona Musheko commented on the matter, stating, "We are aware of the previous study, but as this is part of ongoing legal proceedings, it is best to refrain from further comments until the case is resolved."

Amupanda, who has filed a lawsuit seeking the removal of the Redline, presented a document to the media at a press conference, which included excerpts from the consultancy report that examined the potential consequences of fully dismantling the Veterinary Cordon Fence.
