In an effort to promote education and preserve Namibia's rich history, the Hifikepunye Pohamba Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Namibia, has presented the recently launched autobiography, "Footprints of Hifikepunye Pohamba," to northern communities.

The event, held at the Hifikepunye Pohamba campus, attracted traditional and political leaders, business personalities, teachers, and students, all of whom pledged to place at least one copy of the book on the shelves of school libraries.

This initiative aims to ensure that learners understand the history of Namibia's struggle for independence.

The goal is to instill a sense of history and patriotism in students while fostering a much-needed culture of reading and incorporating the book into educational practices.

"I encourage you to read this book. By doing so, you will learn about my contributions to this country. Education is paramount, and I am confident that this book will serve as a valuable resource in strengthening our relationships and the future of Namibian schools, communities, and institutions of higher learning."

Proceeds from the book will be donated to the foundation, which aims to financially assist disadvantaged students pursuing studies in agriculture to ensure food security.

"This book's proceeds will directly support the foundation's mission to aid underprivileged Namibians in furthering their education. I have established a program and informed Kalumbi Shangula, the chairperson of the foundation, that only those studying agriculture will benefit from this initiative, excluding fields like law or others."

By prioritizing education and agriculture, Pohamba's vision continues to leave a lasting impact on the nation.

To support this vision, over seventy copies of the book were pledged and will be distributed to various schools throughout the country.
