Swakopmund's Mayor, Blasius Goraseb, unveiled the town's theme for 2025, which centres around empowerment. 

The theme, Goraseb, says reflects the town's commitment to strengthening its community and economy through initiatives that focus on education, skills development, and inclusivity.

Goraseb emphasized that 2025 would be a year dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals, particularly in areas like entrepreneurship, youth development, and gender equality. 

He added that by prioritizing empowerment, the town aims to improve the well-being of its residents and enhance the social and economic fabric of Swakopmund.

Through this theme, he says the local government plans to launch several programmes and partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to ensure that empowerment becomes a driving force for positive change in the town.

"How can we help you to reach whatever you have set aside your dreams? That's a strategy when it comes to Swakopmund. The office of the mayor is ready for any resident to come and say, I have the dream that I want to obtain; I have a Vision that I want to obtain XYNZ in 2025. We will then walk out if you can answer us in the way we will be able to work out how we will help you and enable the process so that we can ensure that our people's lives are positively changed in the year 2025."
