The Rehoboth Town Council has expressed its commitment to serving the community despite challenges by prioritising road infrastructure, investment, and basic services.
The town, located some 80 kilometres south of Windhoek, has about 70,000 inhabitants.
In an interview with nbc News, the management of Rehoboth Town Council briefed the news team on the developments in the town.
While some are visible, such as the 1.1-kilometer road construction that is near completion, others are still in the developmental stages, with implementation expected to commence this year.
These include youth agri projects, road construction, and delivery of basic services.
Another visible development is an abattoir, which will be exporting meat to SADC countries, and negotiations are ongoing for exports to European Union countries.
Furthermore, the village of Dordabis is expected to become part of Rehoboth.
Young people are encouraged to make use of the Agri projects, which aim to give affordable plots to grow vegetation and tackle the unemployment rate in the town.
This can be done by approaching the town council and submitting proposals.
