The Namibia Aquatics Federation is looking to improve its sports facilities and is seeking support from the new President's office to help bring its vision to life.

The Federation's President shared this during an exclusive one-on-one interview with NBC Sport earlier in the week.

Like many other sporting codes in Namibia, the appointment of the country's fifth President, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, comes at a pivotal time for the Namibia Aquatics Sport Federation (NASFED), which is anticipating significant changes in the national sporting landscape.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah's pledged to develop and complete national sport facilities as outlined in the ruling party's manifesto and is being welcomed by several sporting federations, including NASFED.

Federation President Riaan Steyn hopes this commitment will translate into improved infrastructure, including the construction of more swimming pools to support the federation's growth.

Steyn is calling on the President's Office and the new government administration to support NASFED's initiative to develop more facilities across the country, as part of its efforts to elevate swimming to a professional sport-an ambition that aligns with the new leadership's plans.

The Namibia Aquatics Sport Federation believes that establishing top-tier facilities will help attract aspiring swimmers from across the country and foster greater participation in the sport.
