The Namibia National Student Organisation (NANSO) is demanding immediate action from the police regarding the murder of two young learners at K.W. Von Mares Combined School in Okahandja.

In a statement the association's president, Dorthea Nangolo, says these cases must not be treated as routine investigations.

NANSO further demands the urgent involvement of external criminal experts, such as homicide investigators, forensic DNA specialists, and child protection authorities, among others.

The students also want the police force to prioritise the protection of all school environments as a critical national security measure.

NANSO adds that the safety of learners must be a central focus and not an afterthought.

They also called on teachers to exercise the highest level of vigilance in the care and protection of students under their supervision.

The student body also called on members of the public with information to come forward.
