Twenty-six teachers in the |Khomas Region are showcasing their hands-on creativity in a Primary Material Development Competition aimed at promoting education and empowering early childhood development.

The competition encourages teachers to recycle waste materials and turn them into useful teaching tools for early childhood education.

The Chief Educational Officer, Evelin Benjamin, said that the event is more than just a competition but a way of empowering teachers to be innovators.

"This competition is not merely about winning; it is about celebrating the spirit of professionalism, collaboration, and ingenuity that defines a true educator. The material you have developed today will serve as a valuable teaching tool that can inspire both learners and fellow teachers alike. As we open this important event, let us be reminded of the guiding theme of the year from the Minister of Education, which says, "Foundation first and excellence always."

Through innovation and creativity, the participants have produced a variety of items, including dolls, playhouses, toys, and classroom aids.

The winners of the competition will be announced on Thursday.
