The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has won the WAIPA Investment Excellence Award for its creative investment promotion efforts.

The award was presented during the WAIPA World Investment Conference, held recently in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, under the Innovative Investment Promotion Campaign category.

It celebrates investment promotion agencies that play an important role in attracting, supporting, and guiding investors from the first contact to after their investments are made.

NIPDB was recognised for its outstanding work in promoting green hydrogen as a new investment area in Namibia.

The Board praised the public and private sectors for the achievement, as it was a joint effort.

This is not the first international recognition for the Board.

In 2023, NIPDB won the award for Best Foreign Direct Investment Project for the Kelp Blue Project.

And in 2024, it was named Runner-Up in the World Trade Promotion Organisation Awards, under the category Best Initiative to ensure that Trade is Inclusive and Sustainable.
