The Rehoboth drug case involving Naomi Fisch has been postponed to tomorrow after the court heard she suffered a miscarriage and lost custody of her two-year-old child to social workers. She said these events caused emotional distress requiring psychological attention.
Fisch told the court she had informed Rehoboth police of her high-risk pregnancy, for which a doctor advised against travel for three months. Despite this, she was transported at high speed to Mariental in a police van's back. She experienced pain in police cells, but a chief inspector dismissed her complaints, accusing her of lying.
Fisch said she is heartbroken and believes the miscarriage was preventable.
The court also heard she earned N$60,000 - N$70,000 from small livestock sales, using the money for home renovations and giving some to her co-accused boyfriend, Steven Schneider, toward buying a car.
The matter continues tomorrow.
