President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah described the late Kanana Hishoono as the bravest, most selfless person and a veteran of the liberation struggle.

She said Hishoono contributed immensely to consolidating the gains of independence and democracy, serving in various capacities.

The late Kanana was also headman of Onambutu in the Ohangwena Region.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah, on behalf of the people and government, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. 

The Presidency said mourning and funeral arrangements will be announced after consultations with the family.
