The High Commission of Malaysia in Namibia conducted a high-level strategic briefing for Heads of Mission and senior Namibian government officials.

The High Commission says the briefing served to highlight Malaysia’s comprehensive approach towards partnership with the African region, anchored on practical cooperation, mutual benefit, and shared development aspirations.

The mission adds that the meeting underscored Malaysia’s continued focus on capacity building, trade and investment facilitation, and tourism promotion as key pillars of engagement.

A central feature of Malaysia’s cooperation framework is the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), an initiative dedicated to human capital development across the Global South.

Through the MTCP, Malaysia offers short-term professional training programmes in critical sectors such as digital transformation, public governance, sustainable energy, and agriculture.

The programme reflects Malaysia’s enduring commitment to sharing development experiences and fostering long-term institutional linkages with partner countries.

The High Commission also provided detailed guidance on Malaysia’s streamlined visa processes, including the electronic visa (eVISA) system, which enables efficient and accessible digital applications for African travellers.

Malaysia has also reiterated its readiness to expand trade and investment links with African partners.

The High Commission also announced the continuation of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign, including an upcoming promotional event in Walvis Bay, on 25 April. The event will showcase Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, diverse tourism offerings, and unique travel experiences to the Namibian public and regional stakeholders.

The Malaysian diplomatic mission says: "Malaysia stands ready to work closely with its African partners in advancing meaningful cooperation that delivers tangible benefits to our peoples.”
