The Katutura Police Station is currently undergoing renovations valued at N$102.6 million. The renovations aim to improve the station's facilities and working environment, with completion set for 9 October 2027.

The Katutura Police Station holding cells have not been operational since 2018.

|Khomas Regional Commander Johanna Ngondo said police operations have temporarily shifted from the Katutura Police Station building to the CIG offices located next to the station while renovations continue.

She added that once renovations are complete, the upgraded facility will improve working conditions by expanding operational space, allowing suspects to be detained locally, and reducing costs from transferring detainees to other stations.
