Namibia Football Association President Robert Shimooshili has secured a place on the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Executive Committee following the 2026 Elective General Assembly held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Namibian football now has representation at the regional level after Robert Shimooshili was elected to the Executive Committee for the 2026-2029 term.
Shimooshili was elected during the Elective General Assembly in Harare, where football leaders from across Southern Africa gathered to select the region's leadership for the coming years.
His appointment is expected to strengthen Namibia's role in regional football decision-making, particularly in areas relating to football development, competitions, and administration.
Meanwhile, Botswana's Tariq Babitseng was elected unopposed as President, succeeding Said Ali Said Athouman.
Madagascar's Alfred Randriamanampisoa was elected Vice-President.
Zambia's Dr. Brenda Kunda secured the reserved women's seat on the Executive Committee.
Lesotho's Lijane Nthunya, Zimbabwe's Nqobile Magwizi, Eswatini's Peter Simelane, and Namibia's Robert Shimooshili completed the list of elected Executive Committee members.
Shimooshili's election ensures Namibia has a voice in regional football governance as the body continues efforts to develop football across Southern Africa.
