President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has expressed Namibia’s sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela following the recent devastating earthquakes.
In a statement, Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah said she was profoundly shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of life, injuries, and large-scale destruction caused by the disaster.
The head of state extended her condolences to bereaved families and to all those affected.
"The people of Namibia stand with the people of Venezuela as you confront the immense challenge of rescue, recovery and reconstruction," the President said, while paying tribute to the courage and resilience of the Venezuelan people and to the emergency personnel assisting those in need.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that such tragic moments "underscore our shared humanity and collective responsibility to support those facing hardship and loss".
She expressed confidence that the strength and determination of the Venezuelan people will prevail as the nation rebuilds and recovers.
