The Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (CENORED) and Pamue Farmers Cooperative in Aminuis donated 250 mattresses to the Dr Fischer Primary School in the Omaheke Region.

The vice chairperson of the cooperative, Vetumbasana Kaevarua, stressed that both entities know that education requires a multisectoral approach; hence, the donation.

Kaevarua added they are also contemplating how they can assist with the expansion of the hostel dormitories with additional boys' hostel blocks in the near future.

"This donation came to the community, and this donation will go a long way, as our future doctors are among this group, and it will be expected from them to return this good gesture at this school at a later stage, and there is good word that says, 'The hand that does not give shall not receive,' and the mattresses donated here, please keep them safe."

The school principal, Foreman Tjizoo, pointed out that the donation came at the right time as the numbers of learners without mattresses always increase, posing challenges to the already limited numbers of materials at their disposal.

"These new mattresses do even more than just provide a warm bed; they provide comfort, dignity and peace of mind knowing that our learners are sleeping safely and warmly."
