Fumu Joseph Tembwe Mayuni of the Mashi Traditional Authority in the Zambezi Region says using wealth from natural resources has the potential to develop the economy.

However, Fumu Mayuni has expressed concern over what he termed the overlapping of boundaries between traditional authorities.

He says it is a stumbling block in many communities, as other authorities try to undermine others with the same powers.

Fumu Mayuni welcomed the establishment of community courts in the country by the government and appealed for the recognition of Sub-Khutas.

On the occasion, the Governor of the Zambezi Region, Alufea Sampofu, took issue with social media, saying it must be embraced with respect and not be used for selfish motives.

In response, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila commended the leaders of the Mashi Traditional Authority for denouncing secessionist ideas.

The prime minister also said cooperation between traditional authorities is a sign of unity in diversity and respect for each other's cultures and traditions.

Shikati Boniface Shufu of the Mayi Community, his senior councillor and other traditional councillors, as well as the senior councillor of the Masubia community and other councillors, attended the meeting.
