Namibian para-athlete Chris Kinda has been signed under the talent identification programme of Athletics Coach Henk Botha.
This was revealed by Botha in an exclusive interview with the NBC on Thursday
A visually impaired athlete is now part of coach Henk Botha's training programme. Chris Kinda joined Botha two months ago and has already set a personal best time of 11.46seconds in the 100m sprint.
This performance secured him a spot at the World Handisport Athletics championships, which will take place as of the 8th of July in Paris, France.
The first step, according to Botha, is going to the world championships this year in Paris and then qualifying for the Olympics next year.
The 24-year-old Kinda said joining Coach Botha means that he can now count himself among some of the best. His dream is to go to the Olympic games.
Kinda encourages other athletes, to work hard and believe in themselves. He will be in action this weekend during the 3rd leg of the Athletics Namibia Grand Prix, which will take place in Rietfontein.
