About 400 election officials from the Tsumkwe and Grootfontein clusters are receiving training.

The training coincided with the issuing of duplicate voter cards for Grootfontein and Tsumkwe constituencies.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is inviting the public to avail vehicles for use in elections.

Omusati ECN's Electoral Officer, Elizabeth Shiningayamwe, says the vehicles should be double or single pickups and not older than ten years.

The Kunene Region is said to be well positioned as a pivotal economic engine to foster prosperity and improve livelihoods for its residents and Namibia at large.

However, more still needs to be done in terms of infrastructure, mining, tourism, and communication sectors to unlock the region's potential.
