The Governor of the Otjozondjupa Region has appealed to the Roads Authority (RA) to consider upgrading several roads in the region to full bitumen standard.

James Uerikua said the upgrades are needed as the roads are of national interest.

The Rehoboth Town Council has announced that inhabitants of brick houses in Block E, who previously were unable to own their houses, will be granted title deeds.

N$26 million worth of debt was written off during the process, allowing beneficiaries to start afresh.

The Oranjemund Town Council is hosting its annual Diamond Festival in Oranjemund under the theme "Oranjemund, Your Preferred Business Destination." 

The festival, which started on the 30th of October and will continue until the 2nd of November, was officially opened by Oranjemund Mayor Elias Kasemba. 

The Inspector General of the Namibian Police, Joseph Shikongo, has left for Scotland, where he leads a Namibian delegation to participate in the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly.

The Assembly will start on Monday in Glasgow.

The Windhoek-Okahandja dual carriageway has been re-classified and upgraded from B1 to A1 road as per the road classification standards.

President Nangolo Mbumba inaugurated the dual carriageway, the only A-rated road in Namibia, at the Gross Barmen Interchange.
