The Special Olympics Namibia office was broken into on Friday evening, affecting the organisation's most basic day-to-day operations. It is believed that the thieves gained entry through one of the office windows. One of the coaches noticed upon arrival that the office appeared to be chaotic and called Activities Co-ordinator for Special Olympics Namibia Richard Sloa to alert him of the issue at hand. Sloa said when his colleague went to the office he found that the place looked a bit chaotic, as things were scattered around. He also noticed that the PC and other items, such as the printers were gone. He further noticed cracks on all four corners of the windows. All relevant information used by the organisation has been lost along with the PCs as well as sports gear and kits. Sloa said it was due to this fact, they are now going to look for sources or dig deeper into their own pockets to replace the items. Relevant information used by the organisation to report back to the sponsors was on the computers. Sloa appealed to the public to provide any information relating to the robbery to the police. He also called on private companies to join hands with Special Olympics and support the centre through donations.
