AgriBank provides mentorship to clients

The Agricultural Bank of Namibia (AgriBank), through its Agri Advisory Services Division, conducted a mentorship workshop for its clients at Mariental in the Hardap Region. 

The programme was established to provide structured mentorship and training services to clients of Agri Bank Namibia, who mostly consist of communal and commercial farmers who had been provided with loans and agricultural equipment over the years. 

AgriBank recently introduced a stakeholder complaint handling policy aimed at guiding the bank in the handling of complaints from clients and the public. 

Hardap Region joins nation in honoring late President Hage Geingob

Mourners from the Hardap Region joined the rest of the country in ensuring that the late President Hage Geingob received a dignified and befitting farewell as a leader who had left an unforgettable mark on their hearts and the course of their shared history. 

They gathered at the Aimablaagte Community Hall in Mariental to join in on the livestream of the memorial service and burial, organised by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Hardap Region. 

Rehoboth residents claim unfair drought aid distribution

Residents of Rehoboth's Block E have expressed anger over what they described as the unfair distribution of drought relief parcels, which they claim is linked to alleged corrupt practices and discrimination.

While other households received full parcels containing four cans of fish, cooking oil, and 12 kg of maize meal, some families of two or three were forced to share the consignments.

This has angered the already impoverished community, which consists mostly of pensioners and children.

Other constituencies, they say, also received complete parcels.

Horticulture farmers to create jobs

The National Horticulture Support Project and the Poultry Value Chain Development Scheme, which provide subsidized services to horticulture farmers, are geared towards job creation and increasing the household income of beneficiaries.

The Chief Agriculture Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform in the Hardap Region, Johanna Amakali, says that the project, which is in its second year, is a success.
