The German-Namibian Joint Declaration Agreement on genocide, apologies and reparations is expected to be concluded before the end of the year. 

A member of the technical committee of the Genocide,  Apology and Reparations negotiations, Dr Charles Eiseb, revealed this in an interview with NBC News. 

Hecht bemoans lack of transparency in genocide negotiations

The chairperson of the Forum of German-speaking Namibians, Harald Hecht, bemoaned the "lack of transparency and feedback" regarding the ongoing genocide negotiations between Germany and Namibia.

Hecht's remarks come amid continued negotiations surrounding the genocide of the Herero and Nama people.

Genocide-affected communities give a deadline

Communities affected by the 1904–1908 Genocide hope to have the long-overdue negotiations finalised by the end of this year.

The four affected communities, the Ovahero, Nama, San, and Damara communities, said this at a media conference about the outcome of the Chiefs Meeting Forum held today.
