Dr. Sam Nujoma was remembered at Walvis Bay, as a patient strategist who liberated the harbour town from decades of colonialism and looting.

Liberation struggle veteran Ben Amathila delivered a historical tribute to the Founding President during the memorial service at Walvis Bay.

The Otjozondjupa region is approximately 90 percent ready to host the regional memorial for founding President Sam Nujoma in Grootfontein on Monday.

Governor James Uerikua stated that the only remaining task for the day of the memorial will be decorating the venue.

The Rundu Sports Stadium was filled to capacity on Saturday as mourners from Kavango East and West gathered to pay tribute to Namibia’s late Founding President, Dr. Sam Nujoma.

The Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Doreen Sioka, said she was inspired by three words, "Unite, and Eradicate Poverty," written for her by the late Founding President in his book Where Others Wavered.

“He once gave up his room for me while he went to spend the night at his mother’s house, then returned the next morning with a helicopter to fetch me. He was really my chommie.”

Retired Zambian journalist, Villie Lombanya, who at one point plied as the late Dr Sam Nujoma's driver has extolled the Founding President of Namibia.

Kavango East Governor, Bonifatius Wakudumo says the region is ready to host its regional memorial service in honour of the late Founding President on Saturday.
