Civic Affairs Regional Office construction commissioned in Katima Mulilo

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Dr. Albert Kawana, commissioned the construction of the Civic Affairs Regional Office and a Class B Police Station at Katima Mulilo on Wednesday.

The government will spend more than N$100 million on the Civic Affairs Regional Office at Katima Mulilo.

Dr. Kawana reiterated that the project's implementation represents the government's clear commitment to public safety and the efficient provision of civic services.

Number of classrooms under construction in ||Kharas Region

A number of classrooms are under construction in the ||Kharas Region to ease overcrowding.

The cost of the development is estimated at N$9 million.

The classroom project includes the construction of two four-classroom blocks and an ablution block at Ambrosius Amutenya Primary School a three-classroom block at Keetmanshoop Primary, a three-classroom block at Keetmanshoop Secondary, and a five-classroom block at Kaitsi !Gubeb Combined Schools.
 
The government funded the construction of the classrooms, whose completion rate stands at 80%.

Ondangwa Town Council set aside N$2,4 million for construction of Build Together Houses

Ondangwa Town Council has set aside N$2.4 million for the construction of 31 Build Together Houses at the Onatsi-Proper informal settlement.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the project took place at Ondangwa.

The houses, which will be completed in two months, are for low-income earners.

Beneficiaries are expected to pay N$105 per month to enable the council to continue availing land to those who are on the waiting list.

The payment will end as soon as beneficiaries are issued title deeds.

Construction of |Khomas District Hospital in pipeline

The Ministry of Health and Social Services hopes to start the construction of the |Khomas District Hospital as soon as possible.

A consultant is presently appointed to do a feasibility study.

Currently, the |Khomas District is served by ten clinics, two health centres, and one hospital, namely Katutura Intermediate, while the Central Hospital is used as a national referral hospital.

The region has no district hospital, and in the absence of that, the Katutura Hospital serves both functions.
