Oshikuku Town Council revamps sewer ponds

The Oshikuku Town Council was allocated N$5.7 million by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD) to expand their sewerage pond, fence it off, and put up an embankment to prevent the overflow of sewerage in the current financial year.

The tender for the project was awarded to Kambwa Trading.

Swakopmund Municipality, NHE pave way for decent housing

The Swakopmund Municipality has signed an agreement with the National Housing Enterprise (NHE) for housing provision.

Last year, about 805 residents from Swakopmund's DRC informal settlement received free plots from the municipality to construct brick houses and apply for electricity connections. 

Namibia invests N$6.8 billion in administrative sector

The administrative sector will receive 7.8% of the national budget and an amount of N$6.8 billion in the fiscal year 2024–25 to support effective governance and the efficient administration of public services.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development's budget has increased by 37.2% to N$2.6 billion.

Over 4000 informal settlements' homes electrified

To date, the City of Windhoek has electrified 4,215 households in Windhoek's informal settlements.

This was revealed at the inauguration of the Informal Areas Electrification Project in Windhoek today.
